Yep I told them that but they didn't get a fudge.

The car, as it stands now is worth about $50. Beat up 88 hatch shell, no drivetrain, missing body panels.

Towing a car 50 miles is about $150-$200

I may ask the judge if I can just have the guy's new car, which has all my turbo and good body panels on. Sounds unorthodoz, but....we're in Alabama.

Oh yeah, speaking of Alabama, tell me this aint fucked up.

When you are filing small claims, the filing fee gets bigger as your claim gets bigger. WTF kind of sense does that make and oh yeah the max amount is only $3000.

Tell me abuout it man. When I filed my claim people had told me oh yeah just take them to small claims court, it's only like $30. Well I had to pay $175.

We just studied this in my law class, that contract WILL hold up in court. It's very accurate, plus you still have the title. I think you got a good case.

Yeah it will hold up. The question is will the guy pay.

Here is the next problem. You will have to show proof of what was in your car and probably receipts or it will be his work against yours. Send me a list of the parts on it and the price you paid for them (or price you want them to think you paid) and I will print you out a bill from a friends business.

Doug - I'm in Auburn. I'd take you up on the receipt offer, its very nice of ya - but I think I've got paypal receipts for at least most of the stuff. I'd rather keep it 100% legal even though a nice professional receipt would kick total ass.

As far as picking up the car - i honestly don't want it. Right now I've got 2 cars that are out of comission and I live in an apartment. One of the cars is parked here, the other is in storage ($$$). IM suprised noone has bitched about the broken down EF wagon with a flat tire yet.

I think you have a very good case, and you should win. Maybe the judge will settle it for the $500 left of the $1500 original price, but still it is your money.

Legally you are entitle to an extra $1000. If you have pictures of all your parts, before and after the install, I suggest you take them in also. Proof that those where in the car when sold.

I think you will win, but the question is how will the judge force the guy to pay up if he doesn't have the $1g.....

Yeah I'm kinda worried about payment. I've read up on the AL small claims court ---- and they sound like a bunch of lazy ass bastards.
