Made a mistake in judgement. Legal advise? *UPDATE*
2 months ago, I sold my HMT EF Hatch to some guy. When I got there, he had money problems. I was asking $1500 but he offered to give me $1000 on the spot and $1000 in two weeks if I'd let him do that. I figured waiting for 2 weeks was worth the extra 500 clams so I said sure, but i'm holding onto the title and dont modify the car. Since then he has installed a 5 speed, blown the motor, then pulled the motor and left it sitting motorless, put the turbo junk in another car.
Long story short, he still hasnt paid the other $1000 and has sold the ------- car. I still have the title. I just called his cel and his work and left messages but as always, I'm sure he won't call back. Monday I'm gonna have to take some sort of legal action. What do I do? Go to the police department, sheriff's office? some kind of court place. Im ------- clueless.
Cliffs:
1. Sold car, agreed pay half now, pay half in 2 weeks
2. Guy still hasnt paid, it's been forever
3. He sold the car (somehow) to some other idiot.
4. What should I do next?

Reporting it stolen will get your *** in trouble for a false report since you willingly gave/sold it to him. It's like loaning someone your car, then calling it in stolen-you get arrested not them.
Take it to small claims court. It doesn't cost that much to get the paperwork filed, and then the judge will determine the amount you deserve payed and if you get the car back. Once the judge makes a ruling, he has to pay that ---- or get into trouble. Your contract should be good, as long as you still are friends with your witness.

just go down to the police station, ask to speak to someone higher up than the retards sitting at the front desk, i sold a jimmy a while back for 50 dollars. and told the dude all i wanted off of it was the tailgate and the wheels/tires, 4 weeks earlier and he didnt show up. i went to the police, even tho it was just a verbakl agreement. i kept my cool, and the dude showed up. cause the cop threatend to put a warrant out for his arrest. i kept it cool. didnt say a word, thje cop asked him about it. and the second the dude ackknowledged that that did happend. the cop signed me over the title. and i called a junkyard the next day. with the dudes adress. got the tailgate.rims/tires and a bunch of other things. and still sold the car for 150 bucks. now i had a VERBAL contract. and i got out of that pretty happy. ythis dude has a signed paper and everything.
moral of the story. dont try to be nice to people. cause the majority of people are ---- tardd that always try to rip you off.

ohm and you need to get ahold of that "other idiot" and ex0plain to him wtf he just bought. that other idiot could get dragged into this for buying a car without a title/proof of ownership
