Re: Made a mistake in judgement. Legal advise? *UPDATE*
Thanks for the advice ToysRme.
On another note -
As much as I'd love to pwn his *** on national TV, I'm just gonna do it the old fasion way. I'm a pretty private person and despite the obvious advantages of taking the case to TV court, it's just not my style. No doubt if I were on the TV show the producers would make me act like a jackass and I'm getting married in a few months. Last thing I want is being surrounded by 200 strangers that know me as that guy on the court show making an *** out of himself while marrying their neice, nephew, grandchild, cousin, etc.
The fact that the defendant being found guilty, from what I hear will ---- up his chances of getting into the military (how I dont know but the guy's commanding officer said something about that) and getting my money eventually will have to be enough.
But that doesnt mean there's no drama left in store for this thread. I called the court and the papers were passed off to the Sherrif's dept on the 7th of this month. THey have 30 days to serve papers, then the defendant has 14 days to reply. So I guess I'll know something on or before April 14thish.

Yeah the bad part is the stupid Sharrif's department just sticks it in his mailbox. Which is kinda stupid cause he can still claim he didn't get it and hold things up more. Anyways, I bet the judge will just orders him to repay the remaining balance.

Well the guy got served with papers but never responded. I gotta go to the courthouse to fill out an application for default. In other words - to start the collection process.
