Really? I thought it would be lower rpm-oriented, since they are rated at 44 mpg in the 5 spd heavysut HX.

It's basically a GX, FWIW, and the CR will be 12.5:1. I am strongly considering a T25 at some point but I don't think I'll be able to stay with 87 octane if I go that way. Maybe E85, if we get more than one pump in the county?

Don't know?

Make your guess and I'll make mine, whoever is right gets $100 from the other.

Hmm..........I guess that they were fucked due to detonation.

They are visibly detonation scarred on the quench pads, the ring lands are slopped out, they are beat and represented as 100% fine nothing wrong with them + being sold because he was too lazy/pigheaded to send a block to the machine shop and wanted some stock bore pistons. A week, week and a half later he has a FS thread for his freshly honed 75.5mm block. I broach the subject of the piston's condition immediately, he wanted me to file a claim with USPS payable to me, WHICH ALMOST A YEAR LATER I CAN ASSURE YOU IS A GUARANTEED WAY TO NEVER GET PAID, as a number of vendors have since discussed with me when I broached the subject.

god damn if i wasnt talking to chris yesterday about a vtec-e/closed loop wideband/forged internal/uber-lean burn build

...i got 34.5 mpg in my turbo ls and it really got me thinking about what i could do for mpg if i really tried to build something with that in mind. Keep us updated on your progress so i can copy it and say it was all my idea later.

It was good at every RPM range. Gotta love those roller rockers too to rev it a bit higher if you want, although I really don't.

I used it before on a stock Z6 block, now it's on a 7.5:1 CR vitara/TT Z6 block. It's still awesome. I never had any of the Y series timing issues that you talked about a lot either.
