7m makes me feel like taking a ----. Because thats what it is. Where do i begin?

1. it was designed to be a "truck" engine, and doesnt really like to rev, so unless you just want to be hardcore and shift @6500 at the track, you really gotta get into the head and sort things out.
2. oil press at idle is in the 7-10 psi range. Many 7m's are ticking time bombs as they are VERY prone to rod knock, stock or otherwise.
3. Stock fuel rail is too long, causing fuel pressure drop at higher pressures. End result, toasty #1 cyl. Or BHG.
4. Even with a MHG ive seen them "blow-by"
5. Head flow is a joke.
6. Everything attached to it sucks but the tranny.
7. It weights more than a smallblock Ford, without the displacement
8. Valve covers ALWAYS leak. (not that I care about a leak...)
9. They are getting harder to comeby and therefore are becoming more expensive than they are worth.
10. The ct-26 is very ineffecent and too small for that engine.

Trust me, ive owned a supra. Yeah they arent hard to make much power with, but you will hate yourself in the end because of all the piddlly little bullshit you have to fix every other day. You must remember, the newest of these engines is like 15 years old or something. It might not be so bad if it wasnt in a pig heavy car.

The 1JZ is FAR superior in every way but displacement, which in turn it more than makes up for since its bullet proof from the factory. Turbo's arent much better and max out pretty quickly. MHG stock, a much better flowing/higher velocity head, and 2jz parts interchangeablility make it *almost* cheaper to build than a 7m, since you dont really have to worry about the internals as much. Stock longblocks have been pushed well beyond 600hp and can rev much higher than 7m and still make power. :6

Can you tell im biased???

That's cool, but why would anyone do that? There are better options for the price & work of converting.
