that car is ------- bad ass. i bet its gonna be well above the price of a viper, but at least it will be way faster.

Sweet. their new 6.2L are putting out some good power.

Re: Fear... 2009 Corvette LS9

Estimates from Lutz are all under $100,000k mpsr, but dealers will rape the ---- out of that number. GT500 was selling for about 20-30k over msrp when it came out, and the Z06 bases at $65kish, but you can't find one for under $75k out the door. ------- dealers. It'd be bad ass if you could do a COPO kind of thing and get the LS9 in a Colorado or the new Camaro

Re: Fear... 2009 Corvette LS9

hard to decide between vette and viper. if this new vette comes out it'll destory the current viper

Cars like that don't make salesmen much money. My buddy is our fleet manager at the Chrysler i work at an he just solc a viper........apparently he only made about 300 bucks of the ------- thing.

on another note.....have u guys ever driven a viper??? Uncomfortable as all hell to get in and out of. Only has power adjustable pedals(new models anyway) so you can't adjust the seat. It sits how it sits and thats that. I just put about 15 miles on an 07 viper RT/10 that just got a fresh motor after only being driven 900 miles. Came in with a hole in the side of the block and rods 7 and 9 were twisted and just flew threw the block. The ------- owner hydro locked the motor and our chrysler Rep even agreed. Well the ---- had some connections with chrysler and we ended up warranting the motor job :7

Re: Fear... 2009 Corvette LS9

actually...im hearing 650whp on this motor.

i was thinking of the powerplant for the Z07/SS/Blue Devil. Supercharged 7 liter Z06 motor in the neighboorhood of 800whp. its the same motor thats going into the new caddy CTS-v

werd, regardless whatever one is faster...I still like Vipers.2001 GTS for me, Blue hardtop/white stripes. Supercharged UPS truck exhaust tone FTW.

Plus you can twin turbo them

ok make it 30

for that kind of i rather buy a sweet camping truck a nice DD and have plenty left over for some projects

im sure the new hydro formed UHSS (ultra high strength steel) frame will be supper solid. even if they used a carbon fiber body that car is going to be a death trap at the speeds it will easily reach.

but none the less not bad

He corrected himself.

That motor needs to go into a Fiero.

Yeah, but for $100K you can bolt a blower on a Viper and wax some serious Corvette ass.

I heard it once in one of my post, and i'd have to agree

1- 100k vette < 100- 1000$ CRX's or even 25 well built

I'd hate to be the sorry sucka that to do ANY work on the motor, INLUDING chaning the serp. belt,

no crx will ever be as good all around as the new vette from the factory end of story 8)

Re: Fear... 2009 Corvette LS9

in case you guys didnt know, the new viper goes 11.60@127 while the z06 goes 11.70@126. lol

its still no contest with the 20k more the viper cost. mags still pick the vette every time, even with the viper's new numbers

BigBird 11-27-2007 04:18 PM

Re: Fear... 2009 Corvette LS9

I have always preferred the vipers. I couldn't stand vettes, but the pure bang for the buck for a brand new car is pretty good. A used c5 z06 is pretty damn cheap now. Of course there is always the henessy 1000r viper.

says who...who drove them. and where. dont doubt that those numbers are somewhat accurate. but ive seen a stock Z06 with drag radials and nothing else break the 10s. all depends on the driver and where the track is located

TorganFM 11-27-2007 06:22 PM

Re: Fear... 2009 Corvette LS9

Ls9 + Fiero GT = mid engine ass kicker.

says about every issue of car&driver, motor trend, and road&track that has come out in the last year. stock rubber of course is going to limit both cars.
