We all should get like a bunch of HMT members chip in some dough, and rent a big ass house boat this summer on a nice lake. I live in southern indiana, but there's 2 really nice lakes w/ marinas. The better one is in Bloomington, Lake Monroe. Brew, fishing, HMT members= tons of fun

nice vette.

It's a good price for a great car, but of course there is always something else you can blow your money on. Supercars are horrible investments, just buying one garuntees you'll spend a shitload of money.

That's why you get a vette, nice warranty and 10930409x easier to deal with then exotics with rediculous prices for routine maintenance parts like brakes and alternator type ----.

Re: Fear... 2009 Corvette LS9

Supercars are for rich men who need to take expensive losses for tax reasons. Hitchhikkr has some funny stories of new Porsches his boss buys, shits 30k in performance parts on, drives for 4 months then sells at a big loss. Basemodel C5 with a turbo and suspension is poorman's supercar, IMO.

TorganFM 11-27-2007 08:47 PM

Re: Fear... 2009 Corvette LS9

I dunno, perhaps a poorman's exotic, but in order for me to consider a car to be a supercar it needs AWD. There's nothing super about a car that can't get up a hill when it snows, no matter what tires are on it. But that's just me. Modified STi or Evo is closer to what I'd call a poorman's supercar, if only for the fact they can be driven decently in the snow with performance all-seasons.

That is actually pretty sweet looking. If i were into those kind of cars i may consider the z06.

hmm $80K+ Corvette or...

$65K Skyline that runs a 7:35 around the nurburgring (FYI, it beat the SLR McLaren, and porsche 911 turbo)

http://toffeegrc.files.wordpress.com/2007/03/gtr.jpg

and yes it will be here summer of 08, its on nissan's website.

Good choice, but I'd still say it's too new to be proven yet.

"Nissan says the GT-R will accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, finish the quarter-mile in 11.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 192 mph."

Skeet! But it only comes with an auto :(

hey aren't you richard simmons

btw you're a dumbass and you're going to crash your sweet awd if you think its magic and can plow through snow

evo and stis are junk and only thing super about them is their gayness and price.

What do you mean it won't exist? Preorders start soon and too much advertising has been spent for it to "never exist." Just because it'll be a bit of competition for the holy vette doesn't mean you should get upset.

I'd still choose the corvette, but the gtr looks like it'll be a pretty quick vehicle.

To save you from having to post, I'm a ricer ::)

13 second car defines thirteen seconds when you run a course at 20mph faster than anyone else

480 crank hp, with a few thousand rpm where the 480 is at 80% or above... beats t4 on d-series powerbands

Hahaha yeah the atom is a neat little car. I think I'd pay the extra 10k and have a roof and stereo, but if I had money to blow i'd sure as hell get one to play with. They have it mildly tuned to 300...would hate (love) to ride one fully modded.

whats 10k into an atom going to get you? a high strung pos 4 banger that will blow up every 10k miles and/or need rebuilt every 30k.

hell, i could probably put in much less than 10k and still blow the doors off that pile of ----...most of it would be spent on cute little ricey things like gauges and warning lights...and yeah, probably a stereo to weigh the car down a little more and give you a fighting chance.

how the ---- do you figure a sleeved Type-R K-Series with forged internals is going to blow up every 10k miles barely even pushing 400 to the wheels? lets see you explain something instead talking tough guy about things you know so little about...

and you know this from personal experience...just like all the other trash you spout about random non-american cars out there. since you hate these cars so much, how is it you actually know so much about them?

Honduh is going to go bankrupt doing warranty repairs on all these high strung 4 bangers that need rebuilds after 30k :y

Ks aren't the most reliable but not quite that bad either... There are a few "duds"...not that many though.

My poor high strung 4 banger has only been going for 230k+ miles now, flogged 24/7 to try and get some power outta it... way past due for a rebuild yet it runs fine.

Anyway, facts of life:

atom > vette
crx interior > 2nd gen dsm leather
JDSAP
HHH
The new supercharged vette will haul more ass than before

That motor in a............................ lets say a solid body such as a Late 60's to eary 70's Chevy would be sweet as BDVT's momma tits. :6

there is no honda motor that makes over 300hp...

get a clue dude, we aren't talking about a 150whp motor, hes talking about a built turbo motor makes 400whp big difference. its much harder on a little boosted motor making 400hp than it would a big na motor...
