If you can afford the entry price, and upgrade the valvetrain before it pwns itself, they are robust and make good power. A reliable 400 is do-able with a stock long block plus retainers/keepers. The ---- in the ass for K-series is the transmisssion, but since an Atom weighs less than one wheel on a Corvette you could replace the transmission with paper mache and still have 100K reliability. There, now you can go around and pretend you know something about imports. HTH. |

Can you buy one and I come and help do fun things with it? If you threw JD's 85mm LS engine in it, this car might actually run a decent time. PS: Ariel Atom is as much as a Corvette. Atom is a better performing machine hands down. If you are looking for a good all around car, bang for the buck probably goes to the Corvette. If you are looking for a good all around PERFORMING car Atom kills the Corvette. |
