The only problem I would have with a rebuilt or salvage title bike is reselling it, I'd just keep looking and try not to get discouraged, a good deal will come along. Have you looked at the sv650 yet? you should be able to get one for a reasonable price or kawasaki z750, honda nighthawk, superhawk, bandit etc. naked bikes tend to go for a little bit cheaper and don't tend to get the dumb squid owners as much as the full blown sport bikes, and imho the nakeds are much better everyday bikes.

Resale was my main concern also. I tend to buy/sell too fast and trying to sell a salvaged/rebuilt title is quite a bit harder, especially these days when even ---- with a clear title isn't moving like it should. I've had my dirtbike for 6 years now(bought it new)so I've managed to keep that in one piece for a long time and not sell it.

I'm not really into the naked bikes. They look damaged to me, like they were in an accident and the owner can't afford to fix it lol. Like riding around in a car with no fenders or a truck with no bed. :S

I might just buy that GSXR anyways. The title scared me off, but I think I might pick it up tomorrow anyways. I'm in desperate need of another toy. The cops don't like me riding my dirtbike around the streets too much for some reason. :6

Just went and checked out the orange GSXR. I would have picked it up tonight, but the title hasn't been notarized. Picking it up tomorrow around 6pm, be dead by 9pm. :X

It's got a crack in the front end near the windscreen, a leaking fork seal and some scrapes on the exhaust, but other than that it looks pretty good. For $2000 I can deal with some damage. I've been looking all over hell and can't seem to find much of anything else around this price range unless it has no title, and I plan on riding on the streets so that's out of the question. Will post pics tomorrow.....if I'm still alive. :S

I test rode one before I got my sv, they are hard to find for a decent price and condition. Dude told me on the phone the bike was in great shape and only needed a rear tire. So I took out cash, loaded my truck up with a ramp and tie downs and drove an hour to check it out. Got there and the brakes were shot, origional fluid, too much play in the front, pads shot, rear tire completely gone, ---- keyed into the tail section, chain rusty, and then the guy tells me about how he's been drag racing it. So I took it for a quick rip and left, without the bike obviously. It was a fun bike, a little heavy though.
