Out here, it's pretty much the on-season for riding. If there is an off season out here, it's in the middle of the summer when it's 125* and you can't ride without SPF200 on your melon. :S

You are also comparing a bike that has a DRY weight of 437lbs to a bike with a wet weight of 440lbs and also a 5spd vs. a 6spd. That doesn't even account for aerodynamic drag, weight distribution, rider weight or skill... So the fact that you can stay up with has less to do with bikes deteriorating and falling apart at the insanely high mileage of 20k and more to do with comparing apples and oranges. Plus the cbr600rr is a very capable performer. I know because I have one. That thing is SCARY fast.
The owner of thus f4i had over 130k as of two months ago:

I will agree with you that you don't see really high mileage bikes very often, though not because the machines aren't capable but because of the lack of practicality... I have a 06 with 3,000 miles on it. I love riding and ride every chance I get but in the NE but it just doesn't seem to ever happen to me

althought you are right about the weight. it is still a matter of about 50whp more then a 600rr and stock the yzf's ran I belive 10.3 vs the rr 11.2 in 03 so a stock yzf ran 10.3 with only 120hp at the crank you can only imagine what a 150whp would do the bike should have run pretty deep nine's, and you have only got 3k on your 06 haha I put like between the two bikes last year about 4 or 5k on in just a few months. NEWB! oh and ya the rr is fast but not "scary" fast. you get used to it the more you ride. and I do love mine but honestly it's nothing compaird to a liter bike. in the aspect of the fear factor

I wouldn't really say I am a noob, I had a f4i that I put about 6k on three summers ago, but I just don't ride as much. Plus there was a lot of downtime since I switched fairings twice over the summer. Maybe mine is just a freak but it is the best bike I have ever driven. Over on 600rr.net they have had some RRs dynoing at around 113RWHP....
I absolutely smoked my friend on his 07 gsxr600 and when I rode his bike it felt like a PIG compared to my bike. In first gear when I go WOT the front wheel comes up even with me putting all my weight forward (i only weigh 140lbs). So it is SCARY fast. Feels significantly faster than the f4i I used to have and any other 600 I have riden.
and the 98yzf (couldn't find any credible info on the 97) had 120bhp vs. the RR108bhp I don't know where you are getting 11.2 for the RR but I have read magazines getting between 10.4-10.7 so its a lot closer of a race than you think...

I saw a '03 636 going for $2,500.00 today. That's a little steep for a '95 750.

the 11.2 was in 03 thats my year. only made 105hp that year. I belive it jumped to 115 in 05 or 06. haha ya 140lbs would feel freakin fast I am about 40lbs heaver then you. and i do agree the gsrx's suck in comparison as do the r6's no bottom end at all and a very very short power band.

I'm hoping to pick this bitch up tomorrow after work for $2000. 30k miles, but for some reason it gives me a funny feeling in my pants while the green one gave me a funny feeling in my stomach. :l

cleant title? I like that color, a guy at work bought a 2000 gsxr600 with a polished frame, wheels, and a few other things had some scratches from being down and a rebuilt title, he paid $3500 :-X with bald tires

Ouch. :-X I wouldn't mess with anything except a clean title, unless it was a REALLY good deal and I just wanted something to beat the ---- out of.

It turned out to be a "restored" title. ::) I guess he thought that wasn't an important detail and that a "restored" title is no big deal and is the same as a clear title. ::) This is bullshit. I've got money in my hand and I want a ------- bike and nobody seems to have anything decent for sale around here. :3 I'm almost thinking about buying this POS with a restored title for $2k. Still a decent deal? :-\

Maybe Santa will bring me a nice new bike for xmas.
