does it hurt any performance if you use a silicone hose for an oil feed? i know everyone uses steel braided, but on your website, some of you used silicone hoses...thanks

i thought that the back of a honda block used BSP (or is it bst)fittings and to use a NPT you had to run a npt tap through it...

The Honda oil passage is actually taped to 1/8 BPT, not 1/8 NPT. The difference is that the BPT has 28 threads per inch while the NPT has 27. Since the block is aluminum, you can force the 1/8 NPT fitting in but you will weaken the connection. You will need a Fitting, 1/8 Male BSP Taper to 1/8 Female NPT Adapter if you don't want to ruin the threads in the block. After you install this adapter you can use 1/8 NPT for the rest of the lines and fittings. The adapter costs about $2.38 and can be found on the web. A good mechanic knows, "if you can't start a bolt or nut by hand then there is something wrong".

That is true that the block is a 1/8 bpt, but I can get all my 1/8 npt fittings to start by hand. then use teflon tape and screw it in with some vise grips, not once has one broke or leaked.

Yes you can use silicone hose, (as long as it is high pressure)
