I agree that this thread needs a sticky... You can drop every bit as much heat with water injection as you can an IC... and a bit more than either when used together. Given that this is a site where people build things out of junk, water injection is ideal due to price.

OK found that you dont have to buy the fine mist sprayer for the injection, just use a fuel injector to spray directly into the intake side of the turbo, the turbo will atomize the water/ methanol mix and feed it to the intake,,,,,

just bought my misting head today. I went with the .5mm from aquamist. Only cost me like 28 shipped. Got the pressure switch from NAPA, i think the pressure switch is the same thing that a water meter uses to determine when to cut on. Only thing I have to get now is the pump. Hows that f150 fuel pump working for you? 90 for a pump seems a little high and I really cant find a 12v water pump anywhere. Any suggestions to where I can find one? Oh yeah the guy from aquamist said to NOT inject the water into the turbo intake even if it is a fine mist. He said the intake mani or the charge pipes right before the t-body ar ethe most ideal spots to mount the water injector.

a fuel injector will last about 3 days before it rusts shut. about 5 guys on the fiero board have tried it, all with the same results. use a brass misting nozzle or one from aquamist..

If you spray water into the turbo you'll rust out the turbine and compressor housing. Don't listen to this dumb ----.

Netsearch for Shurflo diaphragm pumps... you can find the 40 or 45 psi models for ~$40, then buy another pressure switch for it for $20 to up the pressure... if you don't feel 40 psi plus positive boost pressure on the reservior is enough.

Is there something special about the f150 pump or something? Wouldnt just about any fuel pump work exactly the same? I know it might be bigger but if thats the case wouldnt just about any pump from a 6cyl engine and up work?

I've got to do something quick though... I've got my distributor turned fully clockwise, retarding the timing 1.0 degree PER psi, and it's intercooled, and it pings at 5 psi... what the heck. It pings worst at night time when the temps are down a little bit... This is crazy. my 180k mile d16a6 is a strong puppy, but I think she's got some carbon build up.. Water injection is getting closer and closer. Still mounting a container.. actually thinking of doing this up front instead of the trunk.

How do you know if your car is pinging, i mean how can you hear it over your exhaust while your driving?
