fuel injectors will rust shut with water flowing through them. a couple of the turbo fiero [insert roaring laughter here] guys did tests with them and they didn't last more than a couple days at best.

www.autospeed.com has an interesting setup as well. they use a DC motor control to run the pump, and use the MAP signal to control the motor controller which gives you water injection that's proportional to boost pressure.

the general rule is to inject about 20-25% of the total volume of fuel in water, but the pressure switch setups seem to do really well. only trick is to figure a way to not run out of water, or to drop the boost to a level the engine can handle w/o intercooling if the water level drops too low or the pump quits for whatever reason.

I'm thinking of jerry rigging a master cylinder low fluid switch to light up an LED in the cabin when the fluid gets to a certain point. I carry 5 water bottles (8 fluid oz each) full of 50/50 mix and I just fill up every 1/4 tank of gas with one.

alcoy/water injection is a very proven way to increase boost and timing safely.

buick grand nationals actully have a light on the dash that says "power injection". Its there b/c GM/buick was going to factory equip the GN with water injection. They found that after something like 200K miles the water injection would "hurt" the cylinder walls, but that was under contious use. I guess they desided not to put it in the GN b/c they reallized that water doesn't refill its self after a lot of high performance driving...

My best friend has a 800HP GN, and talks a lot.

I just came across that; I don't really know how to do a good write up on this... if you have any questions though please let me know.

BTW, you can get a good discount on Aquamist products if you mail this guy: Shane Lawrance (slowrance@austin.rr.com) make sure to tell him chackoperformance@attbi.com referred you.

For 450cc injectors use a 5mm nozzle, it will give you the best results..

Grand Nationals are ------- nasty cars I get to inherit one when I turn 21... but can't modify it till my grandmother dies.

Get this last months Hot Rod magazine, there is a huge article about a company manufacturing blocks for GNs capable of handling 2000 horsepower (its the actual casted block, don't think it includes internals though).
