Default Turbo planning [i hate this ;) ]

I've always thought there would be room for a single if :

1)
you moved the battery to the trunk or got a small one

mounted the turbo in the battery tray area with the compressor inlet pointing at the driver side of the car

ran the downpipe under the motor and crossmember

ran the ic piping down to the IC then back up the other side

2)
you mounted the turbo in the intake area at an angle where the compressor inlet was pointing at the headlight housing

ran the downpipe under the motor and crossmember

ran the ic piping down to the ic then back up the other side

ran a super short intake

this could all be assisted by removing the fan shroud and getting 2 or 3 very hirpm electric fans with smaller shrouds
these are the things that someone on clublexus.com said i could do to help make room for a turbo. but i think it wont work at all since the turbo is so far away, please confirm this.alsoi dont know how the hell the manifold will look, lol. the total cost of this WILL hurt, lol. neways, this engine is awesome and has documented to produce 2,500 hp with internals O.O, so i know i am starting with a reliable platform. I am going to get some 450cc high impendance injectors for it along with the electric fan. more info on someones install is at www.lextreme.com/tt.htm/ i have some prices written down and i just dont think i have da skillz to make stuff myself =/ so i gotta get the charge pipes made. If you know anyone that fabs stuff at a price thats not all out, PLEASE tell me. It will run about 8 psi to begin with, usin a safc. to be budgedive, i am using a taller copper headgasket from lextreme.com, which lowers the comp ratio to about 8:1:0 i THINK . one of the main reasons im trying hard to do this is because some of the car guys here made fun of me for getting this car, saying nothing can be done to it. i hope to prove them wrong in a big way :-D

with that said, please give me your opinions on what to do first with this project. i have tokico struts, eiback springs on it with michelin piliot tires, [mom put em on]. thanks ! =)

If you don't have the skills to put it together yourself, this project is going to cost you a fortune. I'm guessing your talking about the SC400. There's actually lots of SC400 running turbos. The biggest downfall is the transmission cause nothing bolts up the 1UZ motor. I know the W58 is only good to about 450 before ---- starts blowing apart and the automatic is even worse. So the motor may be reliable but the drivetrain is going to be a timebomb.

Good luck.

yes i am talking about the sc400. for the tranny i plan on getting the torque converter rebuilt, and stall at 2400 rpm i think it was. and i am also getting a cooling kit for the tranny so it wotn go boom. i dont know if ill go past 350, probably not since itll be already plenty fast with that horsepower in it. i dont plan on getting everything done for me. i found someone who is making a manifold for the engine that will work on the sc400. so thats taken care of. YEYEYEYEYE

now i need to know how much you guys thing getting charge pipes made will cost.

thanx!

Take of your front bumper and start measuring.....buy look at how you want it and where the turbo will be placed buy some 180 and 90 degree bends and start chopping and welding
