One of those small advantages you failed to ask an explaination for was the fact that the 1.8 is cheap and fits easily into a late 80's mirage/colt/summit, which is mistus equal to the ED/EF hatch if you will, with little to no modification, which in full trim soaking wet weighs an incredible 2200lbs. and usually costs less than your average insurance premium.
Also many of those on this particular board will find an 80's hatch far less homosexual than a miata of equal value.
Pot, kettle, black.

Who gives a ---- if it is far less homosexual then a miata. ---- If I care, the car handles 100x better then any dsm or colt hatch. Makes power just as easily and to the proper wheels.
And yes, the $2006/2007 GRM Colt was 4g63 based, not 4G37 based.
Go check out 4g61t.org for more info. I used to be active there, under this nick.
Some guy went 200mph for under 3-4k.
FWD is boring, and almost nobody had an AWD Hatch when I was active. Even then, they don't handle good enough for me.
Edit: Anyways, my "gay" miata has no bearing that a horrible motor such as the 4G37, was called "a kick *** bottom end" and the 4G63 which is the FASTEST 4 cylinder in the world (brent rau 6.xx @ 2xx mph) was called a POS. You may say your D-series is better then a k, but that is a crock of ----. There is NO point of swapping in a worse motor for the same amount of money. (4g63 vs 4g37 , not D vs K)
