looking for turbocharger assembly blueprints
I'm looking for either a complete set of blueprints or full CAD models for a complete turbocharger assembly. It really doesn't matter what kind or size of turbo, but I would prefer something close to a Garrett GT3582R, Holset HX35, or T3/T04S 60-1. I'm looking at building the complete assembly (minus the compressor and turbine wheels, until they get a 5-axis mill) at school as a second year CNC project. Pretty much everything has been covered as far as assembly and balancing is concerned, I just need fully dimensioned blueprints so I can model and program the parts to be made. For the people who will say "it won't work" or "just buy one", the idea isn't really to get a finished functioning turbo, but the experience of building the full assembly piece by piece. Thanks in advance for any assistance or leads.

arent compressor and turbine housings poured and not machined? i know part of the inlet/outlet is machined finished, but i dont see how a CNC machine would be able to get the curves cut.

Re: looking for turbocharger assembly blueprints
a 5-axis can do it
This one is just making compressor housings, but it could also do wheels.

Re: looking for turbocharger assembly blueprints
. I can tell you now the information you are looking for is going to be impossible to find. shops wont give that sort of stuff away, nor is anyone going to have it kicking around.
Comp housings, ex housings, as well as pretty much every other part of the turbo (bearing housing, exhaust wheel, comp wheel) is cast.
The exhaust wheel is made of inconel, good luck machining that, lol, it has to be cast. PLus a solid chunk of inconel will cost you more than a new turbo from garett. About the only thing you can make is a compressor wheel on a 5 axis from a solid chunk of aluminum. I think your project is unrealistic. I know functionality isnt a concern, but its a waste of time IMHO. if I were you, id make a sterling engine or something worthwhile. I work at a turbo manafacturing company and the "experience" of building turbos is nothign special.
