turboj0hn I have no idea, unless they simply overestimate. Same sintuation as PVC. A lot of people use it out of spec, and it barely discolors. This... Is way better than that ---- tho.

Guys there really isn't much to see in the engine bay. My entire ES 300 is a ground study in the hundreds of things that people tell you can't possibly work, and why they actually work. ;)

Excuse the nastyness. I haven't cleaned the engine bay since I rebuilt it months ago.

God damn it the file hut just deleted my account... Only pics I have left.

Re: Try this for cheap charge pipe

i thought about using this stuff for my hard pipe couplers, but not for the entire piping. I grew up on a farm and we used this for pressure hoses on various equipment. It is super tough, but I was concerned (like others) about the temperature issue. I guess if you made sure not to get too close to the exhaust.... or maybe wrap it with header tape if it gets close. There are other companies that make similar hose with a metal spiral made into the hose also, i've run over that stuff with an 18 wheeler and the stuff barely deformed.

Props for taking a chance, it looks like it works for your setup.

Oooh, and it won't rust or need painting either....it's alreay 2f2f green. :P

How about some fab pics? maybe of the manifold/turbo etc? thats badass that piping works, I'd probably hit it with some spray paint though, the green is a little... eh ;)

I'd throw some T-bolt clamps on it anyhow, and I'm with Jeffrey on flat black spraybomb.

how do the clamps work with it

Re: Try this for cheap charge pipe

Well, if it's got that hard green plastic on it preventing compression from a normal clamp, which are beyond fragile hose clamp's ability to compress, the t-bolts should be able to actually squeeze it a bit. While it look like it can cope with heat and pressure just fine, I'm a big believer in a mechanical connection to kep things from flying apart.
