Default smaller return line?

i've got some friends at work who say that if i use a smaller return line the pressure going back to the oil pan will increase.

FYI: i'm running the cheapturbolines.com kit i have no idea what size the feed is (maybe -4) but the return is 1/2 inch opening.

this question has come up due to my turbo blowing from a rise in my return line (never trust anyone to do anything to your car ) so i'm wondering if a smaller hose would help.

BTW: i fixed the rise in the hose.

No, no. There isn't any pressure in the return, so you want the biggest drain possible. 1/2" is the smallest I would ever go.

I believe they use a -3 with a -10 (1/2") drain.

My return line has a slight dip in it and I'm not smoking at all. A -3 feed is small enough that it's not feeding to much oil pressure to the turbo. To make sure just get a cheapo oil pressure gauge. I'm thinking your turbo might have seen better days before you even got it. :P

Your post didn't make a lot of sense to me.

What do you mean by your return line rising?? Creating pressure in your oil pan??

Not being a dick, but you need to clear it up and we can tell you more.

by rise i meant it dipped below the hole in the oil pan before coming back up to meet it. i just had to shorten the return line and now thats fixed.
