you could probably get away w/o, but i'm retarding 1/3 degree per pound of boost. using the btm gives extra margin of error incase i get bad gas etc.

Can you here detonation? At 5 psi with the AFC hack your timing is super advanced. I would suggest retarding it.

i don't hear any detonation although i've only pushed it a couple of times and i didn't push it for long. I don't have a btm or anything like that. Is there a way that i can retard it from the distributor and if so how much.

You can retard it at the distributor by turning the distributor counter clockwise to advance, clockwise to retard. First you have to jump the connector under the dash above the ecu. I would retard it 2-4 degrees.

at 6psi tuned my a/f was still on the rich end and didn't have detonation. i turned it up to 8psi still ok. at 1/3 degree per psi makes me 2.5 degree retard at 8psi. if there was detonation, figure i'd know especially during/after dyno tuning. i don't know?..??
