im building the bottom end of my d16z6 and im deciding between tuner toys rods for $220, these scats ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda...68856083QQrdZ1 ) for $295, or a set of eagles, price is an issue but i dont want junk. my goal is 250whp, from the descriptions it says all these rods can take more then my goal is.

although ive searched (an came up with the above) what would be the best bet?

completely stock topend, head and IM lightly ported
stock block (freshly honed), stock crank
vitaras

the rest is still in consideration.

 

All of those will work great, but i would just go with the tuner toys rods. Same ---- and less expensive.

 

if you're gonna run cast pistons you might as well just use the cheaper TT rods

 

yeah... not like the tuner toys rods are the weak link

 

They are all the same and I think they all come from the same Chinese factory.I would go Tuner Toys as they are cheapest.

 

Incorrect, they don't all come from the same exact factory, but all 3 factory's are on the same street in china and the little asians that take out the trash sell each other blue prints of new products. So yeah, I guess they ARE all the same.
Tunertoys are the cheapest, so get em.

do the tt rods require you to notch the block?

 

If the eagles and the scats do (which is correct), than the TT do to. Aside from whatever markings eagle/scat put on them, if you had one rod from all 3 places, you wouldn't know they weren't the same, or part of the same set.
