eagle h-beam rod question(s)
ok, i just bought eagle H-beam rods, JE 9:1 pistons total seal rings, and its all going into an LS(b18a1) but the only worry i have is what thickness of rod bearing to use does anyone have information on what color of bearing i should be using?with these rods? i havent tore the block apart to see what the stock color is.. but in the single cam i just rebuilt for a friend his stock ones were pink, so we bought pink ones and they plasti-gapped perfectly to spec, but he was using scat rods. just wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

Re:eagle h-beam rod question(s)
I've been trying to figure it out for a while. I don't even know what number my stock rods were since my block didn't come with rods. what I'll probably end up doing is going through my mechanic friend and having him order me some green ones, then I'll plastigauge those and if they're good keep them, if not have him exchang them for the correct size based on my measurements.

All you have to do is take your crank and rods to a machine shop to have them speced out. It wont cost but say 20-30 bucks. Also, there are a few companies who sell rod and main bearings that are just plain standard and .10, .20 over. I have been using Toga Race bearings for about a year, and in 3 other B20 Vtec's. I have never spun a bearing or need to replace them. Just be sure to order the right size. And you wont need to get the factory color code!

Re:eagle h-beam rod question(s)
Eagle H beams normally take Honda Green bearings. I've done about 3 engines with eagle/crower rods. They all mic'd out fine with greens. Btw kyle you cannot return bearings to the dealer if you buy them and put them in the engine even to measure them. I have a bunch of pink/brown bearings in my toolbox ones that are still new.
also, when you buy bearings from the dealer you buy them in halfs. So be sure to get 8 peices.

Re:eagle h-beam rod question(s)
Most dealers dont even stock engine bearings. I know we dont, and the one dealer that does have bearings is very limited. It's just not common selling items, and since there is so many different combos is hard to say what sells more than others. But ya might get lucky
You could just buy 1 (2 halfs) and mic out each journal to make sure they are all ok.
What are you setting your clearences too?
