Default Experience with OBX LSD...

It's getting time for me to get an LSD, I sick of shitty 60' times Now that the OBX LSD has been around for a while and been beat on by quite a few people. I was looking for any updates on any problems that anyone has had...the only this that I've heard bad about them is that you should make sure that everything on the unit is torqued correctly and that the bolts on the ring gear are VERY close to the center part of the carrier.

Any other things to watch out for would be GREATLY apreciated.

Oh yeah...what are the other shims that you can use other that the stock shims to space this correctly? Everyone that I have talked to says that the OBX LSD ends up using ALOT smaller shim than stock (because the carrier is a little bigger) and there's a shim from an Integra motor that you can use that is around .015" instead of that normal stock .040" or so.

Mista Bone says these things have good results in lots of cars now. You can buy varying sized shims from the dealerships.

However, a limited slip is not part of a turbo kit, so I wouldn't have chosen the forced induction section. Just a thought.

Sorry, there always seems to be more people looking in here than anywhere else....If you want to move it, please do. But it's not really a "hybrid" question eather...more of a draive train question.

its hybrid/tech...it falls into tech.

Have you put one of these in yourself? I just want to make sure I have everything I need before I tear things apart.

I have found several writeups here and there...but none of them seem to be complete. I DO know how to set up the lash and such but I haven't been in a FWD tranny before so I'm a little timid..

i am boosting my forged h22a to 20 psi on that lsd with no problems..
what it does when accelerating through a HighWay ramp is just amazing.
I think it's important to get some brand new diff bearing from honda when installing it.

I totally agree with putting in new bearings...that way you don't have to take the other ones off too...Did you put it in yourself?

been using it for about 6 months now. seems ok. my motor still stock so ihavent put a lot of power in but i can definately tell is their going around a corner. im using 92 ex tranny and im not using any shims at all.

and yes make sure your torque everything down.

OBX stands for. Other Brands are all eXtremely better than us. But they work, waste of money in my oppinion. So just save up and do it right the first time.

well here is a couple pics of the tranny and diff, befor the obx lsd went in. Got a friend that owns a tranny shop to press off the bearings and back on to the new lsd, no problems at all. the real test for the lsd will come in about a month when the turbo set up is finished. but as for now, works great. no shims or anything needed.

fit like a glove.
