small exhaust leaks, also suck in fresh air. doing funny things with your oxygen sensor. So, if you are still using the o2, get it fixed as soon as possible. if you got rid of that thing.. it's only an annoying noise.

So... let me get this straight. I never thought exhaust leaks after the turbo were any big deal. The only way air could be "sucked in" through a small exhaust leak is if the exhaust gasses were traveling faster than the turbo was spitting them out...? Is this right? This seems to be more of a problem for smaller exhaust piping, correct? With larger diameter exhaust piping, there is less backpressure, lowering the velocity of these gasses, meaning exhaust leaks have a lower chance of "sucking in" fresh air when you have larger diameter exhaust... right?
