Default ok, so i bought the rebuild kit.

stupid mistubishi crap god damn motherfu........

i mean, anyways i bought the rebuild kit for my turbo, MHI TE04H, and i go and pick it up and it's in this little tiny box like a matchbox, so i'm thinking "$250 FOR THIS!?! WHAT THE ----?" so i ask the lady "are there instructions included?" and she goes "no, you've never done this before?, you know there is quite a learning curve. how are you planning to clean it? do you have some way of cleaning it?"

and on and on, anyways, she made me real nervous about rebuilding it myself, so i asked her how much to have them do it, "$260"
well for ---- sakes, that's $500 down the drain if i get them to do it.

so what i'm asking is, does anyone wanna come help me? or um send me instructions, i saw the one in the faq i think, but there were dead pictures or something.

seals and bearings and a whole bunch of ----.

new nuts, washers, cerclips, bearings, more bearings, a bunch of ---- that i don't know what it is.

that's $250 canadian. for a TE04H. it's the best price i could find, plus it was overnighted.

i was really looking for more of a reassurance from someone who's done it before, wether it be easy enough for someone who is fairly mechanically inclined.

i just took mine to bits for a laugh, there is't really much to them. Get yourself a half decent work area, you'll need a vice and probly some gas bottles for the hard to remove bolts then strip it and lay it out systematically, clean and put back together replacing the old ---- with the new. Are you planning on getting it re-balanced? although i think this is somewhere in the FAQ!

i took mine apart and it is very strightforward. Make sure you mark it and When you pull the nut of the shaft, be sure to not put any lateral pressure on it. My turbo looked rather clean inside but it still had a lot of lateral shaftplay and i think thats what made it smoke.
