Default Oil everywhere? is it blown?

So i was full spooled up the other day and next thing i knew i was blowing major smoke out of my exhaust, it was only there for about 20 sec, then stopped. i pulled over and poped the hood and noticed there is oil leaking out of my couplers up by my BOV, so that means it went from the turbo all the way thought the IC up the other side of the charge piping and into the intake manifold. The question is, are me seals blow? it only does it when i'm fully spooled, it doesn't do it if my wastegate doesn't open? really wierd, do you think it could be because of my oil return as it's not 100% straight down? If it is the seals what should i do? Buy a new 18g or get this one rebuilt?

Yes, could be that your return is not with gravity or big enough, could be that you have way too much oil pressure going to the turbo, what kind of oil lines are you using?

could also be (as much as I hate to say this) blown seals, in which case you need to rebuild your turbo, lets just hope for now that its either one of the above.

Goodluck.

fix your drain line and get a restrictor valve from Steve. until then, lower the boost.
And keep that turbo.

Well i took the turbo out today and i'm going to send it to get rebuilt just as a safety precaution. My drain wasn't 100% downward but i'm sure it was draning fine and not backing up. Either way the turbo is out and it's getting send off in the AM to get rebuilt. $325 for all new sela, bearing , port job and balancing. Also will come back with a 6 months 12000 mile warrenty. O
