ive been doing some research and looking to turbo my NA starlet sportif 4EFE. im going to use very low boost (6-7 psi). am i right in thinking that i could do this without any aftermarket engine management? most kits sold for hondas say that you can bolt them up and run them without a remap or piggyback. i was going to build the kit and fit a rising rate FPR.

any help appreciated thanks

Boost + engine knock = boom.
I'm no Toyota expert but believe strongly in retarding the timing or lowering the compression w/ boost.
If you do go with w/o ignition control I strongly recommend det cans.

RRFPR will do for low boost apps.if you can look into msd or other timing mods. nology hot wires work good on my car.

if you can get msd get the boost timing master you can retard timing as boost builds. good luck.

no turbo kit for honda's say that no managment is needed. if your add air. you need to add fuel or its not going to do anything good to your motor.

opps sorry. i was just implying that i had good experience with the wires and and they helped with my boosted application. they just give a better spark when under higher loads due to the capacitor in the wires. sorry for the confusion there.
