Default Which management option?

I plan on building up a ZC in a 91 civic. I don't plan on driving this car everyday, but i want to be able to drive it to the track, race, and drive home. So im not looking for daily driver reliance/convenience, but i need more than race only. Which would be a better option, ZDyne or Hondata (or something else?)

Zdyne would be the easiest and probably your best bet. For ultimate in tune-ability the AEM is the best, and not that much more than the Zdyne, but you need to do an OBD conversion.

Zdyne, but Hondata is pretty trick... but then again an OBD conversion is required.

The reason I left the Hondata out was because if you have to do the OBD conversion, you may as well go with the AEM. You can get the AEM for about the same price as the Hondata anyway, without the core. P72 GSR ECU's are going for about $200 on ebay now.

so the AEM is a replacement ECU that allows computer tuning? but i would need the newer wiring harness in order to use it? would it be worth it? It says that it controls fuel and boost, does that mean it can do the jobs of a s-afc and boost controller ?

here is a pic of JHILL's AEM setup in his crx.

You will need to switch the plugs over to OBD1, and as far as distributor, its going to be pretty rare to find a DOHC ZC OBD1 distributor for the setup.

The Zdyne is pretty good dude, it does all the basic ----, I use it in my race car, with a fully built ZC.

Yes, the gold is the one. Plus, you should get at least the vtec option so that you can resell the thing if you need to in the future.

The AEM will work with a stock distributor too, you really only have to do a true OBD I conversion to run the system with the preconfigured connections. It has the capability of running almost any race engine as a standalone computer, but you really have to know your ----, and the support from AEM is good, but they will not cover non applications yet. That will come with their race version later.

Get a zdyne.
