Electronic Fuel Management neccessary?
Well, I'm not familiar with electronic fuel management, VAFC,Hondata,Greddy Blue Box, Etc., or anything to do with fuel. But i heard it is needed (electronic fuel management) if i use DSM injectors. But also i heard i can use my stock B16a injectors and use some sort of fuel pressure. To compress more fuel for the engine. Without using Hondata or anything to do with the ECU.
So i was wondering if what i heard was right or not. Also I saw a site ( http://www.cse.uconn.edu/~yelevich/turbo/turbo.html ) that doesn't say anything about Hondata, VAFC,etc....
Can you guys give me more informations... I'm confused of what setup to use. THanks alot!

that set-up uses a fmu, they raise the pressure of fuel going to the injectors depending on how much boost you are running. if you don't have a bigger fuel pump, then it doesnt matter how high they raise the pressure because your pump wont keep up. a fmu/stock injectors set-up isn't recommended for anything more than 8 psi or so

im using an aftermarket ecu.. "megasquirt" this is boost referenced and increased the injector duration as the boost goes up. Also using the vortec fmu.. with a bosch fuel pump.. It might be overkill as im going to run low boost levels, but for $110.00 to build the megasquirt its well worth it, and who knows if i decide to crank the boost im covered. i little overhead is a good idea here as engines are expensive.

The Megasquirt is fully programmable.. You enter values into the rom of the pc board.. through a laptop.. you enter things like.. injector flow in cc/hour, # of cylinders, stroke, cubic inches, e.t.c... it measures your water temp, manifold air temp, manifold absolute pressure, ignition events, e.t.c. it uses a ve table to calulate the correct amount of injection duration, it will work with any type of injectors.. Obviously the big ones give you more potential in terms of maximum safe boost pressure. but keep in mind if you boost over 2 bar or 22 psi you need a mod to the megasquirt board/software in regard to the map sensor. its current map sensor and software is limited to 2 bar . others have done the mod. check the yahoo group for details.
