are you sure your drain is higher than the level of oil in the pan?

Oil rings might be gummed up? Mine had that problem when I bough the car, good comp all around, but smoked like a freight train when hot because the oil thinned out as it got hot, and it was blowing past the oil ring and burning. Mine used a bunch of oil too, and it wasnt even boosted (still not, but in the works and on car sooner than later) I first put in valve seals b/c thats what someone told me to do, and nothing changed, so I decided the next thing is the oil rings. They turned out to be gummed solid when i pulled the pistons out. Give it a try if you dont mind tearing into the heart of it all. Good luck!

yea thanx. im gonna throw in a y7 i got sitting in the shed. and build my z6 over the winter. ill post up letting you guys know what the problem was on thrusday or friday.
