i also do my own PnP I usually just do port matchine which is where you take the intake and exhaust gaskets, put them on the head, trace the ports with a marker and cut away the marker lines.

i didn't read every post on here but i looked at your pics and i can tell you now that you can definetly flatten out the bottom of the port floors, and match the gasket on the exh side and just smooth the hell out of it. the intake you need to keep it rough. trust me i've ported dozens of heads and the way i just described yielded the greatest gains..........we're talking butt loads of low end torque gained and 500-900rpm spool time decrease. just a little advice it looks damn good though

oh btw some guys chop the valve guides flush with the port roof to reduce turbulence...which is also proven to work i don't know how crazy you wanna get with it though

and have 20 psi would do better forcing the air through the 80 grit scuff and atomize the air and fuel better http://www.sa-motorsports.com/diyport.shtm read that, and search the web and ask shops that do p&p, they will tell you to leave a rough grit on the intake side,

32 valve 1uz-fe = $500-900usd
Porting supplies = $75usd
75 hours of labor = $6,750usd
Having the greatest DIY ports of all time = Priceless

that is sick. I didnt have the intermediate cross buff to get them that shiny.

standard abrasives porting guide is for old school v8's with carbed motors that need the rough intake to atomize the air. Ask anyone with a high output turbo kit and they will have their intakes polished as well. Grinding the valve guide flush is good for ohc motors that do not have rockers like hondas. rockers put alot of side load on the valve and the guide is needed to keep it steady.
