car hasnt even been driven more than 4 miles, and not even at speeds of over 40mph, i keep my rpm's around 3k or less.. my oil return is heater hose 5/8 and it does have a belly, the oil i see might be from the oil feed flange not being on tight, i know i need to route my return better. i have all the piping on it, except for the pipe that feeds my trottle body.. could i use duct tape to cover over half of it to keep pressure built up on the turbo? this will only be for about a few miles of driving.

Put the pipe on the TB. You'll build NO boost and you'll do ZERO harm. You have a more risk at leaving your charge pipe undone then having it hooked up. I'm telling you, watch your boost gauge and don't go past 0, but it will be easy to do trust me. Just hook it all up and don't build boost. That's the theme I'm getting at, haha.

You'll be fine and believe it or not since there's NO load on that beautiful turbo, 3k rpm and 40mph isn't 3k rpm and 40mph anymore. Like throwing a baseball, then throwing a baseball in underwater, ya dig?

Okay, hook up the charge piping to throttle body. Watch boost gauge to not build boost. Have fun!

Got it? GOOO!!!

Okay, no.... see because we live in 1atm annnnnd when you turbo is out in the open it's expierencing 1 atm. NOW, when you have your turbo hooked up it is expierencing load from the vaccuum produced by the motor which is generally 22mmHg give or take.

Okay so 1 atm = 760 mmHg and to allow your turbo to be in 760mmHg it is an OBVIOUS difference to the load it would expierence in an environment of 22mmHg.

With that being said, by COVERING the charge pipe with duct tape, won't do anything all you've done is created a now CLOSED (as opposed to an OPEN) system....of 760mmHg (1 atm) NOT the desired 22mmHg.

Follow? Hook up your charge pipe, you won't blow you're motor and GET A BOOST GAUGE!!! I have one with lines if you really need one, but I think the bulb is bad other than that it's solid.

Where are you at? I work at a shop in Chatsworth. We are a SCT dealer/tuner.
