What the ---- does it matter? If he doesn't meet his power goal, he'll fab a new mani, if he does he'll have a good laugh making you all look like the ignoramuses you are.

Dont be supprised if you find your limit at your manifold. If i were you id ask around, but i believe to make the numbers your looking for your gonna have to go 1 off custom with shorter runners and alot bigger chamber.
Bro please do not think I don't have the intelligence to consider this. This manifold has been proven well over 700 rwhp on just boost. My issue is not the manifold design but the material. On our cars we tend not to go with short runners, but similar to stock runners just made out of aluminum so as to withstand super high boost. I, after doing this car and helping with others, have done a thing or two with regard to research on the topic. Thanks!

Damn noob did you not read the hole post, there was already a discussion on the subject. You fail to realize that some one who is this far into a project has already covered everything he will need to get him where he wants. This project has been well planed and thought out through and through.

noob shmoob its always good to have people throw out downsides to other peoples project that way if something doesnt work or it gives them an idea that it could possibly be wrong, they can fix it before they get it all together and have it not work properly. I personally havent seen to many 2.5l bmw engines making over 600hp, only a couple 500, and they werent using the 2.5l engines they were using the 3.2. But then again i havent done as much research as you because im not doing the build. I mean i bet all the pro. e36 racecars that are out there have that kinda power, its just not well documented which sucks. Everything looks nice on your build and i hope your mani works out for ya. good luck.

This engine is a 2.9L. 2.5L have made serious power - the BMW heads flow very well and 2.5L is more than enough displacement to make things go well into the 600 - 700 rwhp arena without getting crazy. 3.2L generally make less power, because their cylinder walls are thinner (larger bore) and blow the headgasket easier. There are two 9 second BMWs within 100 miles of me and both are <3.0L - one is 2.8L and one is just barely 3.0L, I am 2.9L. BMW heads flow very well and head flow is what makes power when using turbochargers. You could have 502 cubic inches of displacement but if you're breathing through straws there's not much good to come of it.

Thanks for the comments on the intercooler piping - if you're interested it is called wrinkle black and is powder coated. I also did the throttle body - I'll be posting pictures tonight.

I love how you can wrinkle black almost anything and it looks factory stock.

Sorry for not updating - had an issue. Cranked the car over w/ no spark plugs and got oil pressure, then learned that 2 of the 14 head stud holes are used as oil passages in the BMW designed head. Great. I drilled them out from 10mm to 1/2", but I only went maybe 0.520" and that, to me, didn't seam like enough for oil to flow around the studs. So, head came off Drilled the head out, buttoned it back up, and its back to where it was two weeks ago. Just about ready to start it but have to get an intake temp sensor and I think my O2 bung plugs are warped - they will not come out! I am going to take an impact gun to them tomorrow - if that doesn't work I'll be welding another on

Here are some pics I snapped today

I also drilled the bumper out for air flow to the lower part of the radiator and intercooler:

I have two more holes to add to that, but my hole saw ---- the bed.
