Default which manifold would suit me better?

hey guys, almost ready for my by built z6 to be put in my eg hatch but im wondering if i should use ramhorn manifold or a top mount. I could make a top mount cheaper ( ebay header + piping + t3 flange) but would it be better or not? I have a T04B with t3 turbine (.48 a/r exhaust) would i get better hp with a top mount because if flows better? (im looking for around 300 hp)

I have a Blurr SSAC Prototype so it's probably likened to a Ramhorn and top-end is where you REALLY notice the manifold (plus full 3" exhaust) come into play, as pointed out by JK when he tuned it. I have a Y8 with a T04B and a .63 turbine side so our set-ups are similar. I think you're going to be really pleased with this set-up and I'd definitly like to see your outcome with this turbo and build.

As for your question, the Ramhorn will flow nice and have top no doubt, see why I noticed and is kinda gay/wierd is that I get full boost, but the POWER I get about 1200rpm later is TOTALLY different due to the manifold and all. I think the top mount might have the same effect only later and pull harder in the upper RPMs; however, your motor IS built AND you have a smaller turbine. Either or is really good, but I have no comparison with a top mount so it's hard for me to say.

I saw on a vid from panekmechanik.com or whatever they took a log and made like 250whp and the ram made like 300whp. Definitly has advantages.

Bought this from Kevin who got it as a handmade prototype so talk to buddy above me and if you're nice I'm sure he'd tell you what/how much he braced. I've yet to see a production one in person but this one SEEMS okay, so God willing it'll hold.

I'd just go with a braced 'sink-trap' topmount manifold. I'm using a 4-1 style (lx header), and it holds torque well. I just have the tiny exhaust to deal with, so I can't say what typical spoolup would be. Its $75 for the manifold, $30 for the elbows, and $20 for the straights & bracing. You also get the cat flange & donut, which is good if you run a cat converter.
