I don't mean to be sarcastic, but have you ever heard the saying "beating the same horse". It is not that no one wants to answer your question, but this topic has been floated around is this forum many times--and people only want to discuss the same topic so much. A quick search would yield your answer. The type R becomes a poor choice due to its high or higher compession ratio and overlap of its ITR cams. Also dollar wise, a GSR makes more sence. I could be wrong about the ovelap, but the GSR with it's cams seem to make a better turbo engine to me.

b18c1 all the way. don't ruin a perfectly good c5 by boosting the ---- out of it.

whats the difference in the 2 to get that extra 25 hp? just guessing its just some intake manifold/head work and internals (ie higher compression) that make it cost 2g more. your gonna want the lowest compression you can to boost it so i would go with the c1 and spent the 2g on building it. both engines are high compression and should be lowered to get the most fun out of them. also when rebuilding it to lower comp you will get forged internals so thats always nice

well if you still have your C1 after the trade do it! then SELL the C5 and build the C1...pretty simple. you will have over 3g's to work with and you can sleeve/rods/pistons/etc the C1 and have a badass engine that will leave a C5 in the dust (if you ever get traction)...
