Yeah, no kidding, I need to do that...Where do you get your gas? one of those exchange places? or did you just buy your own bottle and get it filled?

and I've already got the solid MIG wire... and the hoses and regulator... I need to get into that soon.

if you are a bit shady you can go and erm, liberate co2 bottles from bars.. and buy the adaptor from any welding place.. not as good as an argon mix, but better than no gas

the welding supplies around here gave someone I know a hard time about having one of those bottles, all but called him a thief (he said he bought it at a pawn shop) and refused to fill it...

those bottle should hold argon just fine, but you can buy a 40 cu ft bottle for $100 filled and it is only $20 to fill after that.. not hardly worth the hassle of stealing one...

alot of times when u buy a welder off miller or air liquide u can work a deal to rent the bottle for how ever u want.. cause they are quite pricy.

read what your welder sez first, if it doesnt say anything u can go with either. ive welded with a pure argon mix and it was fine..

that is not a great price and a 20 ft^3 bottle only lasts about 1 hour.. most people use a 40...

where I live the bigger the bottle the cheaper your fill is per ft^3, so that may also be a consideration..
