yep, I happen to have a plasma cutter. but I have done it with a hole saw too - it makes a nicer circle(hole saw)

I am considering buying a welder to try and make my manifold, but I couldnt possibly afford a plasma cutter as well..

also, I am not verry familiar with welding... how many amp welder should I look for to weld the "butt-weld" pipes and what type of welder do you need for stainless?

The stainless was tig welded with 309 rod. you start at the lowest setting and work your way up. the stainless to the mild steel flange was done with a mig welder the same way. you want a mig welder with gas. for these high heat applications you should have a good quality welder. Just an opinion. we all started learning somewhere.

I looked at that one, but I don't see any way to hook up the gas?? I dont understand how they can call it a "mig" if it doesnt use gas? and why couldnt you weld stainles with it? not enough amps?
