That bracket can vary its usefulness depending on the condition of all the other ----. Just take it off and if the motor sags like a ----------er than ur gonna have to put it back on.

Friends 97 Civic.. removed it once... motor was rock solid.

Mom's 97 Civic... removed to change belts... motor sagged like 90 yr old titties.

well if u take off the ac bracket make sure u take the other side off or the engine wont have a balanced feel on the mounts and it will rattle the side with the bracket removed..trust me ive had it happen and put my bracket back on.btw mine is a hf to sr20det t28.

unless the rear torque mount is ---- and the side mounts are breaking, we've never kept the ac bracket mount. no issues without them as long as your mounts aren't falling apart.

forgot to add, most of the time when we do swaps, the ac bracket mount is shredded to bits anyhow.

I am telling you to leave it on. Otherwise you may get teased about it like i do by my friends. "Hey remember that time you left the ac bracket off...and you dented the hood with your motor" :P

Ok, thanks again for the input. I am going to cut off the upper left quarter of it so I will still have 3 bolts holding it to the motor, hopefully that will give me enough clearance.

more than enough clearance..try not to shave ur block so u can see ur rods >:D

Actually I just cut it and it barely help... but I'll take any help I can get at this point. I can get it bolted up fine, but the wastegate actuator is impossible to have perfectly straight to the flapper connection. So my actuator arm is pointing slightly towards the block, and I am going to bend it back a bit to point straight towards the flapper connection and then extend it. Will this still work ok becuase the wastegate will now push the whole arm slighty towards the block as well as open the flapper instead of it pushing straight into the flapper?

I just reread what I wrote and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. With the new position my wastegate is going to be bolted to, when the boost comes it will extend the rod slightly towards my block, but I bent it so it will also press towards the wastegate flapper. From what I assume, this may raise the boost a few pounds because all the effort(boost) that is being put to the wastegate will be partially wasted because it isn't pressing straight against the flapper (physics 101 people) I'm sure someone has had this same problem before, I just haven't heard about it ever. Well I guess this isn't really a question but a call for input, anybody that has ever done this before, tell me your story
