Internal wastegate woes *pics*
 

There is absolutely NO way I can fit my wastegate in the stock location next to the compressor housing, just look in this pic you can see that the compressor is about 2 mm away from the block when bolted up:

So I'm figuring that I will have to bend/cut the bracket that is attached to the wastegate in order to bolt it to the block, I can probably do that without too many problems. I'll also need to lengthen my wastegate at least 4-5 inches to make it reach. Here's a pic of my wastegate:

How the hell do I lengthen it is my question?

cut it in half, get a piece of pipe that rod will fit inside, and weld the pipe in between.

But then I would have to get it right on the first try, what do I need to make it adjustable?

how about you take off the a/c compressor mount bracket numb nutz :P

go get some all-thread from home depot. cut the arm and thread both ends, then put the all-thread in there hooked up with some coupler things and bam it is now adjustable. i hope this makes since. i cant spell that good and my communication skills are ---- so good luck understanding what i just said

its not that hard to get right. mount the actuator where its gonna sit, tack the pipe to the actuator end, then put the loose piece on the flapper and slide it into the tube until it holds the flapper closed tightly, mark it and go weld it up.

I thought that bracket needed to be there, it goes into the frame with something that looks like a motor mount. I can just remove it?

No I didn't understand any of that

Ok, I just got my welder today so I'll try it. I've never seen pipe that small before, would it be at any hardware store, any specific type of pipe?

We call that threaded rod :D. Jago, i had the same problem in my accord, so i lengthened the rod using coathanger (its not THAT ghetto, works great) anyway, i bolted the actuator to one of my a/c mount bosses (waves byebye to a/c)

Since your pictures suck, I can't tell how much room you have, but I notched the side of the block to get mine to fit. Other ways are mounting it on a different portion of the housing. Be smart, don't be a retard. >:D

So can anyone tell me for sure if it's okay to remove that a/c bracket? I didn't think it was an a/c bracket because my car never had a/c... But if I can remove it that will free up a little more room.

And there isn't any way I can mount it on the compressor housing, I have to mount it on the block somewhere.
