Blah blah blah, your assumption was correct... that was a rediculous #.. If you have a fucked up tiny downpipe, ur asking for trouble.. but as far as your stock exhaust system... 8psi is not enough boost to require a better flowings exhaust. You Can quote me on that... 8 psi is the key.. you want to run piping all the way back but it doesnt have to be larger diameter
-depending on downpipe.. maybe 12hp

0 psi is enough to require a better flowing exhaust than stock imo
Haha, agreed but the key word is require.. not want

lol, I remember when I first turboed the rex I had the pacesetter 2" exhaust with a STOCK RESONATOR WELDED on the pipe.. yes that thing is tiny! I soon swapped it off and wow... just that difference was massive and the turbo would start spinning noticibly faster while just in vac.

The best drive I ever had in my rex was at WOT through 3rd, 4th and 5th with open downpipe right after I turboed it. I'll never forget my heart rate and the joy of seeing the difference over stock... oh, the memories.

btw, my next exhaust setup will be so easy. Just go from the 2.5" downpipe to a 2.5" muffler (hang it on the hangers under the shifter) and dump it on the road right after the muffler... or out both sides of the car with a Y pipe. I'll be setting up that over spring break.

You're going to have bigger worries on your mind than that exhaust...with a t3/t4 turbo at 8 psi on that motor? haha

I'd save up for an LSD and a new clutch QUICK. My friend spins his tires and wheelhops all over the place on the same setup at 6 psi.
