Default Is venting bov air into atmosphere bad?

I was told that if I vent my bov into atmosphere instead of runing it back into my turbo intake, that it will screw up my fuel to air ratio because the engine thinks that it's getting that air, but it's not. Anyone know any on this? I have a DSM 2G bov and on the stock eclipses it runs it back to the turbo intake....I think.

I would say no as most bov's do vent to atmosphere.

My friend has a 2g and when he vented his greddy type S to atmosphere his car would backfire quite a bit. This is with a 3 inch exhaust all the way back so... He keeps it plugged back in now.

On some cars it's ok, on some it's not...alot of DSM ppl have problems with venting to the atmosphere, especially 1g's...

Only vent to atmosphere if you have speed density fuel calculations, if your car has a MAF sensor don't bother.

If you vent downstream from the MAF there are ways around it. Personally I think my friends 1.8 GTI divertor valve sounds ------- wicked. It's loud enough to hear from inside the car and even outside if he's driving hard past me with my window down.
