Just so you know, the TD04 only describes the center housing. There is nearly a dozen different TD04 turbos. Your turbos full name is the TD04-13G. The 13G specifies the wheel sizes. The TD05 everyone is telling you to upgrade to is a TD05-14B.

Crank up the boost before you upgrade. The 13G should stay efficient up to about 17psi.
So are you saying I should just keep the td04-13g. I have the option of getting one and putting it on but is it worth the effort?!?
It all really depends on your power goals. Before you can crank up the boost, you're going to need some real engine management. I would defintely just push the turbo to its maximum efficiency and see how that works out. You have nothing to lose by going that route.

If you still feel you need more, you're going to have to get a different exhaust manifold and oil lines. The exhaust inlet port on 13G is the same size as on the 14B, only it's off center on the flange. Also, the TD05 oil feel is bigger so you're going to have to change that.

But like I said, I'd get some real engine management and crank up the boost on what you have.

Yeah I guess I could...I'll wait and see after the emanage, but from what I have researched and done with the td04-13g was port out the exhaust inlet so it would fit the 2nd gen manifold I have, so If I did go the td05 route, it would be beneficial on my part because the port is already matched and larger thourghout. Also, the oil lines, I was told they match right up for each other, when I bought the stainless steel lines from a specialty shop they told me they are good for any supply of oil with my turbo setup (if anything I would just buy a different bolt adapter for oil inlet), and im running coolant to it as well.

theres an evo3 16g turbo listed in the classifieds right now, that'd really rip on your setup.

**edit** ok maybe there isnt, i coulda sworn i saw one. anyways, 16g wouldnt be a bad idea.

id also recommend that if you step up to the 14b, to use a manifold from the 14b or larger, they had larger runners and wont be as restrictive as the td04 manifolds.

Yeah, I already have the 14b manifold...the 2nd gen dsm exhaust manifold...I just bored the exhaust inlet on the td04-13g to make up for that overlap. Im pretty set on the TD05 14B though, after I do better engine management.

im digging the setup. you really have to get some silicon couplers from lsdmotorsports.com though. the homedepot ones start melting at 10psi. i know i went through 5-6 of them in about two weeks until igot the silicone ones.

17 psi? Yes, but on a 4G63 or on an F22? Bet the two engines don't plot out anywhere the same on the 13B map.

Nice to see another F22 lude. Pretty clean set-up but like everybody else you need a bigger turbo considering it's a 2.2. I just can't wait to get my t3/t4 set-up running on 10lbs.

yeah this weekend im going to pick up a TD05, but it most likely wont get put on till winter. Did anyone have a problem with the suspension cross beam ( whatever it is, that holds the radiator up) and the turbo hitting it since you have to take the front motor mount off? I think I might cut it a little bit to where it can have some room when I put the TD05 on, but i know not enough to screw the beam up. What do you guys run for engine management with the f22 turbo setup?
