so it does this out of boost or in boost, or anywhere in between? almost sounds like coil or ignitor getting overheating. its a honda by the way. i vote dizzy, but test the coil.

UPDATE: :1

So I replaced the fuel filter and it was full of ----, prolly the stocker with 167k on it ran good for prolly ~15 miles, starts leaning out again.

So I figure I must have a tank full of ---- and the new filter is packd again. So I exchanged the filter for a new one and swapped it out (the gas that came out wasn't super clean and clear lookin but really not full of ---- like I expected) also drained the tank into jugs with paint filters in the funnels while beating the tank with a rubber mallet to try and get the junk to shake out the drain hole.

First jug was clean with nothing in the filter, and a little bit of crap came out with the last little bit of gas ... but not a whole lot.

Put the fuel back in with ~1/2 bottle of STP fuel system cleaner and took it for a test drive.

Got out on the hwy and boosted fine up through 115mph, cruised ~90mph for a few seconds, then a cop flahed his lights at me so I slowed to 60 for a minute then turned around ..... by the time I got back to my house it was leaning out again ....

My buddy says I should pull the pump and see if the screen is clogged .... but with it in the drive idling I can get under the hood and watch the FPG and even when it leans out and stumbles it holds steady fuel pressure so I am kinda skeptical that it's in the pump ...

In fact since the FPG is on the outlet of the filter I feel like it must be getting fuel just fine all the way to the injectors ... which are RC 550s I bought used .... but then again it seems as though an injector usually has a problem or it doesn't ... not usually come and go...

Until stronger arguement I am avoiding the distributer suggestion
1. cause its exspensive
2. if it had problems getting spark wouldn't it go rich? and not lean?

So .... what to try from here ?

1. what is your fuel pressure at idle now

2. what is your fuel pressure when you pinch the vacuum hose on the FPR

3. check the resistance of the injector coil windings, i'd expect somewhere in the range of 12K-16K ohms. It'd be good to do an injector balance test, but i doubt you have the equipment for that.

i'd guess 02 sensor, but when those ---- and you hit full throttle it'll go into open loop mode and run normal... so i'd guess something fuel related.
Yeh my guess would be injectors , faulty ecu maybe chek the air/fuel , retune if possible

could be wiring to the injectors too. Like if something is lose or you're getting resistance which can cause the injectors to run twitchy. But it's probably mechanical from the sound of it. Try swapping injectors with someone.
