use a center punch. start with a small drill bit. increase in size til you get near the threads.

I had the same problem accept on my DC header. I took it to my welder and he dropped a tig bead on a nut and welded it onto the stud/bolt sticking out and I put some panther **** on it and those suckers came right out! Saved me $ and a lot of time.

Good luck

A welding shop will heat the cast around it and try to weld another bolt to it. Heating the caast causes it to expand and free it up a little and then they just use a wrech one the weld bolt

Why wont a extractor work? curious

i personally used one on a manifold but all a remember in the end was using a drill to get it out
And using a long exhaust botl, nut and washers to keep my exhaust together

those craftsman extractors havent worked that good for me lately. we have a torex bit stuck in a headbolt at school and the craftsman metal they used is getting its *** handed to it by the snap-on broken torex bit. were havin to take it to the welding shop to weld a allen wrench to it so we can turn it out and take the ------ head off. i say take it to the professionals.10bucks=peace of mind
