ok people...i went and jacked my ---- up.....heres what i did....ok the oil sump that is inside the oil pan...well there is 2 bolts and 2 nuts that you use to put the thing in....the 2 bolts go into the main stands then into the block...well the pipe that the oil travels up into...and then theres the gasket between the oil sump and the block...well that part is held down by 2 nuts that screw onto these threaded studs that are built into the block.....and well i tightened one of the nuts down to far and the ------ thing broke...pretty much i tightened a bolt down too much from an impact gun it broke the bolt in the block...it doesnt move and i dont think it will be a problem with only one bolt holding it in....but should i just drill out that bolt and tap and die it and put a new bolt in or just say screw it and just let 3 bolts hold the oil sump in instead of 4...let me know...if i had a digi cam this would be easier to show....sorry

never been there, but 'do it right the first time' is always good advice. especialy on your oil pick-up.
Drill, tap and putting in a new stud sounds like the way to go.

well...the threaded rod just unscrews from the block...so i didnt have to drill,tap & die the hole out...went to the acura dealership and just picked up a replacement threaded rod and no problemo now

i suggest not using an impact for putting ---- on your engine because of what hapened to you and also, u will tear threads outta alum with an impact so dam fast u wont know what hapened.

omg wtf kinda impact did u use 1/2 inch? ge the 1/4 inch on small bolts.. good god.. lol take the oil pump back off and there should be a lil bit of the bolt stickin out from the flange being thick and grab it with some vise grips? if not get a drill and one of those coool tools u spin in there and it pulls the bolt oout ... twist thing easy out? maybe the word im lookin for.

well i just took the broken threaded rod out and got another one from acura for 2 bucks and put the new one in....hehehe
