You can easily get those numbers by doing a combo of things. ECU Tune, Head porting helps about 40hp on those cars surprisingly. All of this can be had for cheaper than a turbo

You could also go all out and maybe Supercharge it with some fab from a mustang SC or drop the 5.* Expedition Triton Engine in like someone did
ECU tune won't do anything, and 40hp is about 85whp short of his goal. So what now? Maybe a CAI?

If he's going to do an engine swap, for ----'s sake why would he use a 5.4 SOHC? That's not much better than the pig he's got.

I'm siding with the others here. I'm surprised you can read, considering the stupid ---- you reply with.

ughhh more meatheadedness from the american crowd, go figure... i didn't say chp or bhp or whp i just said hp.

he said 225... 225+40 = 265 which is about 35 short of his hp goal if you can do math? probably not and his torque should be spot on with it.

These engines are seriously shitted with the intake from the factory, i've seen the design and gutted it, but an intake barely adds any hp in most cases.

and an ECU tune won't help, are you out of your ------- tree, i don't do this ---- for a business for nothing. You can smell the car burning fuel like a bastard at WOT, ignition is probably severely underpowered if its in a car like that, and if it has a TCU, it probably has torque management enabled which disabled severely improves driveability...

They are 225 stock, and put down 180whp, a 20% loss, which is a very widely accepted number for a RWD slushbox. Add 40, we've got 265, roughly 210whp. His goal is 300whp, he said that himself. Now, ------- rocket scientist, what is 300-210? I was under the impression it was 90.

These engines are seriously shitted, throughout, from the oil pan to the throttle body.

ECU tune, I'll bite. They run a flat line at 12:1 from idle to redline, I've dynoed more than a few. You won't find an OBD2 car that you can gain power on, and keep stock drivability, with an ECU tune. Today's EFI systems are damn near perfect. The ignitions are not underpowered, you won't find a car nowadays with an under-powered ignition, there's a reason for it. GM spends millions of dollars to get the best damn ignition systems out there, because they improve power, MPG, and decrease emissions. It's a HUGE selling factor. Don't you think it'd be for Ford too? Or do you think they'd rather sell a 10mpg truck than a 12mpg truck?

Torque management saves transmissions, I'll keep it. The 20hp it takes away, it takes away for milli-seconds. You will not see a noticeable difference in track times. And it's definitely something you want if you're adding more power.

Oh, and American crowd? Because I bought a Pontiac? What would you say if my other car is German? Which am I, if I have one of each? Take your ignorant assumptions elseware.
