What do you guys think of this manifold?

I'm kind of discouraged from making one from scratch since I already spent so much time trying to make one that didn't work well.

You NEED at least a wire feed welder to get decent enough welds for a manifold. Don't be discouraged, it looks as if your welds were made using a stick welder.
Those manifolds seem pretty expensive, but that's where I got my manifold kit for my first turbo manifold. The one I'm about to use now is my stock cast iron manifold chopped down and a T-3 flange welded to it, maybe you could try something like that!

Oh my god!!! Try to make another one, they charge a ---- load of cash!!! 249, for just the pieces and another 130 to weld it and 13 for shippin!! Buy yourself a wire feed welder (some are less than 100$ right or was it 150) and weld yourself another. Holy smokes the want a gang of cash. If only toyota had their version of he HF manifold.

Re:Finished Project, Problems Boosting ('99 Corolla)
eh...
my first manifold was made with a gasless mig wire feed welder. i know it was my first time and i had the settings all f'ed up. i know i can weld a better one now, but i'm kind of discouraged. i'm cringing at the thought of more hacksawing, grinding, fitting welding.
i was thinking of just getting the 249 and welding the final pieces together myself.
you think i should just get weld-els and do a log style?

Re:Finished Project, Problems Boosting ('99 Corolla)
For 249, the log is fully welded and comes with whatever flange you want. I got the log for my '90 4A-FE and built a better, stronger DSM flange. The manifold is bad ***, I had Performance Coatings coat it with satin blue, which rules. I used no gasket at the head, the flange is PERFECTLY flat and faced from the manufacturer.
