Default **Finished turbo project but a few problems. check it out.**

OK i just completed my turbo project on my d15b vtec with a hf manifold, 450 dsms, dsm bov, 14b dsm turbo, hacked exhuast/dump tube. so my problem is i get about 3500 - 4000 rpms and it just starts backfiring and sputtering out the exhuast like i have a 2 step. Then i look at the boost gauge and it will go up to about 5-6 psi and u cant even feel it at all or even the vtec like before. Also the bov wont work at all just a little bit of air comes out but u cant even hear it work and u can hear the turbo backspin. The things I think could be wrong are my spark plugs are NGK denso iriduims, my walbro 255 fuel pump isnt in yet, I still have my VAFC in my car and set the fuel to -40% all the way through, timings not retarded, and the cars not tuned. Just need some advice on if my bov will cause any of this or what my problem could be, i was also thinking the wastegate is busted. It is a big 16g wastegate. please help

Things to do:
1. TUNE THE DAMN CAR. Your air/fuel ratio is ----!
2. Since the VAFC advances the timing, you must retard the timing to about 8-10 degrees BTDC.
3. Check the gap on the plugs

Hope these suggestions help you.

it should start i initailized all the settings so it was cleared the other day and it started. If im reading about 5-6 psi on my boost guage does that mean my actuator is working or might not be working because i cant feel boost

if your boost gauge is reading 5-6 psi then it is boosting. unless your gauge is fucked up. the plugs really dont matter. it just helps keep the motor from detonating. i ran some regular 5 series ngk's and gapped them at 28 and they were okay. you may be running pig rich. that could be why it feels so damn slow. but then again its only a dseries what do you expect

Marcus get the afc setup right, drive to custom coach and get your downpipe made, then drive back and pull that ---- out and wait until i can tune your car with the new ecu.
