but runs like crap :( really boggy, turbo spools but dosent hit boost, getting some white/blue smoke from the downpipe...

any ideas? really noobish i know but this is my first turbo conversion

Oil pressure might be too high, turbine might be coked solid...hard to diagnose over the internet. What does your fuel management consist of?

fuel management are 450cc injectors running off bre...

didnt realise oil pressure would cause the bogging.... i have the oil restrictor from the t piece on the feed line as the flanges on the turbo were in the way of fitting it to the other end nearest the turbo... is this ok?

I presumed you are running a base map. If thats the case the bogging could be caused by too much fuel. Same thing happen to me with the first base map I ran. The best way to know is to do some data logging. If you are unable to do so, go to Xenocron's website, download a BIN for a similar setup to yours, burn a chip, and try it.

FYI...treat the BINs on Xenocron's website as base maps also. They might be tuned maps for the people that posted them but not for you.

Good luck.

I was referring to the turbo not boosting with those suggestions. If you have an exhaust leak, that could be a cause for no boost as well, or charge pipe leak. If you need a different basemap to try, I have one that I used for my old b16/sc61 setup. It'll run dog-rich on the top end with very little timing, but will be pretty damn safe until you can get some datalogging numbers to cross-reference. Also, try using an older version of BRE if you're using the newest release. The new release still has a couple bugs, but version 2.2 works fine.

EDIT: saying if the car is bogging, should it be ok to drive? Its bvooked in to be properly tuned on sunday so would it be ok to drive for say 6 or so hours?
