I don't like the ignition timing with 42# and recal MAF, but whatever - it works. I'd smurf a moates.net adapter in my J3 port and start fiddling, but that's me...

www.toohighpsi.com anyone?
the timing problem is half throttle boost, where it would see 36-40+ degrees of advance

tweecer can solve that. but for WOT only the timing will be alright.

unless you lockthe timing with the spout out, then part throttle it'll never go over what you lock it at. but also cruising it wont advance either and it'll run hoter and use more gas

Nope, it pretty much jacks the whole ignition curve like an AFC hack on a SD system. Throttle angle has nothing to do with it.

thats not what ive been hearing...

so you're saying if i set the timing at 8 degrees on the balancer the computer will still try and get 36 degrees of timing out of it at WOT.

cause i know that is not true.

You determine engine load based on MAF flow - when MAF output is jacked around to make larger injectors run like stock AFR-wise, then the ECU is typically looking at lower-flow lower-load portions of it's mappings where the ECU normally looks during cruise - high ignition advance heaven.

are you talking about recalibrated stock MAFs?

you can buy blowthrough MAFs made for forced induction. there is probably a mil people using them

i am probably wrong but as far as i understand it at WOT the timing is just off the dist and it'll advance 16 degrees from where its set at the balancer... witht he spout in

10 + 16 = 26 total timing
5 + 16 = 21

ext... i heard the part throttle timing when he spout is in... would be fully advanced 36+ and would cause problems if youlike to boost part throttle like i do

edit: you were talkin about recali MAFS. i never knew of that problem with the recals :0
