DIY 5.0.
I just cant help myself. I've posted this on several other forums…stumbled across this one and somehow cant resist posting it one more time!!!
Anyways, Enjoy! I've posted this on a few other forums...but here it is one more time around for those interested. Well, I finally got started on the buildup this weekend. Let me first say that the headers are of excellent quality (thanks Brian). I did however have a problem with the fitment of the drivers side header. With the power steering mounted in the stock location (with a/c), the header would not go in due to an interference between the header and the p/s fitting. Now for me, this really is not a issue...because I have already removed all of my a/c equipment except the compressor. I'll be getting a a/c delete kit...so the problem will be no longer. The drivers side downpipe has so far consumed almost all of a 2 1/2" mandrel bend with a 5" radius...save for one leg and a small amount of bend. I have virtually no scrap for this either, as I will probably be able to find a use for the excess. Also, I'm buying a smaller radius j-bend to transition to my o/r h-pipe location...which is of the variety for shorty headers (stock mounting). I'll be able to attach the drivers side using the stock location, but the passenger will require me to cut a portion of the h-pipe out to relocate the flange...as it will be impossible to connect any dowpipe to the current configuration Alrighty, on to the pics. Here is a final list of what's been done.
96 explorer engine eddy performer intake B&G Longtube twins twin .60/.48 turbo's 2 1/2" 16 gauge mild steel downpipes 2 1/2" 16 guage mild steel turbo's to i/c 3" 16 gauge mild steel i/c to t/b 42lb injectors walbro 255 fuel pump 3 1/2" pro-m univer (cal'd for the 42's and a 96 gt;)) 3/16" brake lines for oil feed 5/8" hydraulic lines for oil drain HTS silicone couplers/reducers HTS T-Bolt clamps FMS power steering relocation Autolite 103 plugs gapped at .028 Msd coil and wires DIY battery relocation Tune: YTBD Total cost was around $1700 I'm hoping to run mid-high 11's @ 120+mph on pump fuel. |

Howdy. I think it is good to see a variety of turbo set ups on different cars. Everyone faces similar general problems: design, packaging, fuel, management etc. What are those lines you have for your oil feeds? They look nice. I may redo mine when the new motor goes in.

It looks fancy with the black cover. I had brakeline on mine at first. I switched to 1/8 copper line in an effort to stop all the oil smoke. But I heard later that copper is not a good idea and then my oil smoke problem was most likely do to massive blowby from my old motor. So I will go back to the brake line and be done with it. I should check if it is 3/16 or 1/4. I do want as small id as possible.
